PROCESS FOR ADDING LINKS PAGES TO YOUR WEB SITE

You'll be able to add your academic links pages on your own this year, without Web Services delaying the response. Here's how:

If you have a links page that needs to be added to the academics section (or LMC), go to the following web page:

http://www.ipsd.org/ipsddocs/docs_link_form.asp

1. enter your email address.

2. add the exact web site address (best to copy and paste)

3. enter the brief title description that will show up as the words in the link on the school's web portal page.

4. select your school. If you are willing to share links to a High School, select "District-Wide: High Schools Only". This allows both high schools to share links. This can also be done across all Middle Schools and all Elementary Schools.

This section is also pre-populated with the Curriculum Areas and Subcategories.

5. choose a category. These are currently based on curriculum areas. There are many selections that do not have a dedicated page assigned within all web sites, but they can be built fairly quickly. We can identify them on our end and set them up as they are received.

Let's select "Language Arts" (This is "English" at the HS level).

6. choose a subcategory. This would be actual page you are creating, for example, Anglo Saxon or Shakespeare. if your subcategory does not exist, click the link below the text box and it will be added to the Database. Just be sure to remember that this subcategory is also the Title of the Page you are making.

7. provide a brief description to enable users to discriminate between links better, e.g., what specific types of information are at this site that is different links on the page?

6. click on the "submit your link" button, and you're done.

You will be able to add additional links on the next page.

At this point, the links are held in a pending status until an authorized person has reviewed it for appropriateness (sometimes, it's in the wrong category, or a word is misspelled, etc.). It goes live immediately after that.
