PROCESS FOR ADDING OR UPDATING THE ATHLETICS SECTION OF YOUR WEB SITE

You'll be able to add or update on your own this year, without Web Services delaying the response. Here's how:

Setting Up a Team

The first thing to do is set up each team with its individual level.

  1. Go to http://www.ipsd.org/athletics/ath_add_team.asp
  2. Select your school from the drop-down menu.
  3. Scroll down to see if the team already exists. If not, pick a season for your sport.
  4. Select the sport.
  5. Select the team's gender.
  6. Select the sport level (varsity, jv, etc.)
  7. Click the submit button.

You will see the team appear in the Current Teams table below. Continue adding teams until you are finished. You can add all seasons at this time to save you time at a later date.

Adding a Roster

Once your teams are ready, you can add a roster. Click on the "Roster" link for the team in the Current Teams. The Roster Maintenance Page will appear. This is where you will also be adding coaches and other affiliated staff.

  1. Add First Name.
  2. Add Last Name.
  3. Select a role from the pull-down menu. (Athlete, Head Coach, etc.)
  4. Enter Optional Information for athletes (depending on sport)
    1. Position
    2. Grade
    3. Height
    4. Weight
    5. Number
  5. Click Add this Athlete.

The person will be added to the Team Roster table below.

Adding a Schedule

Now that your rosters are ready, you can add in a schedule. Do NOT use the regular events application. Click on the "Schedule" link next to the team that requires events.

  1. Add your full email address.
  2. Enter the Opponent's name.
  3. Add the date and time of the event.
  4. Check off whether it is a home or away game. If home, skip the rest of the location section. If away, pull down the location menu to see if the location already exists. If so, select the location. If your location does not exist, select "New Location" and enter the specific address below. Be sure to add a complete address. This information enables the system to feature directions and maps to each event.
  5. Click "Add Event to Schedule".
  6. Continue adding events until you are finished with this particular team.

At this point, the data is held in a pending status until an authorized person has reviewed it for appropriateness (sometimes, it's in the wrong category, or a word is misspelled, etc.). It goes live immediately after that.
