Residency Requirements

Proof of residency is required for all new students and whenever a change of address occurs.

Please note, according to Indian Prairie School District Board Policy 7:60, “only students who are residents of the District may attend a District school except as provided below or in state law.” The District has had a practice of allowing students to enroll who will be district residents within 60 calendar days of the first day of school. This practice has become problematic due to families experiencing challenges with construction schedules and loan processing. Starting with the 2019-20 school year, the district will no longer be following this practice. Therefore, any student enrolling in the district MUST actually reside within the district prior to their first day of attendance.

Additionally, residency verification is conducted on a yearly basis for all District 204 students. For the yearly verification, the district utilizes a 3rd party vendor to verify residency. If a family’s residency cannot be verified by the 3rd party vendor, then the family is required to provide 3 varied proofs of residency or address evidence.

To meet the proof of residency requirements, a parent / guardian must submit 3 of the following:

  • Title Evidence*
  • Mortgage Statement*
  • Property Tax Bill*
  • Illinois Driver’s License
  • Illinois State ID
  • Home Insurance Policy
  • Photo Identification
  • Voter’s Registration Card
  • Home Loan Payment Book
  • Lease Agreement*
  • Bank Account Paperwork
  • Utility Bill

* - preferred option

Transfer students must provide student records and a "good standing" letter from the transfer school.

The building principal or designee is responsible for collecting this information before enrollment. If you have questions about these documents or other registration and enrollment procedures, please do not hesitate to contact the school office or the IPSD 204 Crouse Education Center at 630.375.3798.
