1:1 Plan
In January, 2016, the Board of Education approved a fee to support the district's 1:1 Plan Implementation that will provide laptops for each middle school student to use in school and at home beginning next school year. As part of the plan, all high school students will receive a laptop in 2017-18, and second through fifth graders will receive one in 2018-19. The district will fund the cost of providing tablets for use in classrooms at a ratio of one tablet for every four students in preschool through second grade.
The plan is part of the district's digital transformation necessary to prepare students for the future. The Chromebooks will be used as a tool to enhance student learning experiences and promote effective use of technology to inform instruction, with the ultimate goal of improving academic performance.
