Would you like to earn college credit while still in high school? Indian Prairie School District 204 offers its high school students the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses and earn college credit. Through partnerships with North Central College, University of Illinois and College of DuPage, students can graduate with credit that is transferable to two- and four-year colleges and universities.

If students are interested in learning more about how to enroll in this program, they should contact their guidance counselor for complete information.

Alternative Forms of Credit Defined

Illinois Articulation Initiative — A voluntary statewide transfer agreement of college credits among over 100 participating two- and four-year Illinois public and independent institutions of higher learning.

Dual Credit — High school students may concurrently be enrolled and earn both high school and college credit for the same program. Credit appears on the high school transcript and on the college transcript with the grade the student has earned. Dual credit can be transferable to four-year colleges and universities and gives students a head start toward their college degree.

Articulated Credit — Over 20 high school courses qualify for articulated credit at College of DuPage. Qualifying high school courses completed with a grade of "B" or better can count toward credit needed to earn a certificate or a degree from College of DuPage.

The Lederman Scholars Program is a highly selective college-within-a-college at North Central College which provides bright, motivated high school students with the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit while continuing to attend their current high school (dual credit).

Are you interested in earning college credit while still in high school? Does the idea of spending a few hours each week on the campus of a first-rate liberal arts college appeal to you? Lederman scholars pursue a rigorous college curriculum among their peers and traditional-aged college students. Scholars attend regular classes at the College, all taught by North Central Faculty.

Upon successful completion of the program, your work at North Central, as well as all credits earned through Advanced Placement, will be posted on your North Central transcript.
