Curriculum Night - 9/12/2018

Reported by on 9/4/18

McCarty’s Curriculum Night is set for Wednesday, September 12th. We are continuing the same format of a school-wide, “We are all in this together” Curriculum Night. We have created a schedule with a convenient intent for all parents, including those with more than one young Mustang. Classroom teachers will be presenting the same material twice in separate sessions. The following is a schedule of presentation options for Mustang Pride Curriculum Night:

"Early Bird" Presentations:

5:45-6:25 Project Arrow with Mrs. Scalzo in Room 107.

*Parents attending this session should enter Door #2, the perimeter door closest to Mrs. Scalzo’s classroom.

*Mrs. Scalzo will present again 6:30-7:10 in Room 107.

6:10-6:25 5th Grade Math Accelerated with Mrs. O’Toole in the Conference Room (120).

5:45-6:25 English Language Learners Presentation with Mrs. Morales and Mrs. Nickel in the LMC.

Classroom/Homeroom Teacher Presentation #1.

7:10-7:20 Transition/Travel Time

Classroom/Homeroom Teacher Presentation #2.

In addition, during the 6:30-8:00 time frame, Special Education Teachers will be accessible in Rooms 202 and 211, whereas other members of our Student Services Team will be available throughout the building, in their Office areas. Additionally, Reading Improvement Teachers will be in their classrooms, either Room 143 or Room 174, introducing themselves and answering questions.

The Specials Team will also be here for show, tell, and explain. Mrs. McVey will be available in the “Future Ready” LMC whereas Mrs. Boeselager (Art), Dr. Brooks (Music), and Mrs. Kiesewetter (PE) will be present in the Specials Hallway, in close proximity to their respective teaching stations.

You will spend Wednesday night sitting in the learning furniture of your son/daughter, getting to know his/her teacher, learning about the curriculum, and how it is taught.

We look forward to Curriculum Night on September 12th and strengthening relationships between home and school. If you have any questions, please call your child's teacher or the Main Office at (630) 375-3400.

Mustang Pride,

Kevin Schnable
