Dear Owen Parents/ Guardians:
Wonderful things have been happening in the art room. This year in art I am using an online program called Artsonia (www.artsonia.com). Artsonia is the world’s largest online student art museum. This gallery displays student artwork that can be shared with friends and family. Parents and relatives view the art online, can leave comments for the artists, and order keepsakes with the art imprinted. They donate 20% of all merchandise revenue back to the school's art program.
For some of you, this may sounds familiar as I did use the program four years ago. If you granted your child permission as a kindergarten or first grade student here at Owen, their account is still active. All students who have not yet created an account for Artsonia should have received a permission slip for the program. By granting permission for your student, you will be able to view your child’s artwork on the website. Whenever your child has a new artwork uploaded, an email will be sent to you to view it online. Please consider using the program as it increases awareness of visual arts curriculum, provides a digital student portfolio, boosts student pride and self-esteem, and supports the art program.
If you have lost, misplaced, or did not receive a permission slip, please contact me and I will get you a new one. For those parents/ guardians who have already created an account and either have new email addresses or have trouble accessing their account, please email me and I will help you login.
