Georgetown 30th Anniversary

Reported by on 10/4/18

Did you know Mrs. "G" went to Georgetown Elementary School when she was a little girl?
That's right! She was known as Kari Molinaro back then and she was in Mrs. Johnson's 4th grade classroom. That was back in 1987-1988 when Georgetown first opened its doors to neighboring students in District 204. Mrs. "G" fondly remembers being part of that fourth grade class, which was located on the second floor of Georgetown, just like it is today.
During the month of October, the school celebrated Fall Festival. The PTA supervised the event and oversaw decorated the hallways to look like a haunted house. "The PTA did everything. My Mom and my best friend's Mom were both in charge of it." Samantha Barlog was the name of her childhood best friend. She met her in Mrs. Johnson's 4th grade classroom. And, they remain close friends to this day!
Did you know Mrs. "G" likes to sing?
That's right! And, she sang her very first solo on the stage of the multi-purpose room here at Georgetown. She was part of the first student chorus and attended Girl Scout meetings held at Georgetown after school.
Now, Mrs. "G" is helping teach second grade students in the very same place she went to school as a little girl.
One more fun fact. Did you know Mrs. Johnson is Mrs. Dominguez' mother?
