Feedback on Skills Needed

District 204 is looking to define what skills a student should possess upon graduation to ensure the competencies of its graduates match the demands and conditions emerging in our world. The skills students should possess by the time they graduate, no matter their career path, is being defined with input from our community. These skills are in addition to the expected command of core academics, which the district views as a foundational skill all graduates should possess.
In September, District 204 asked stakeholders representing multiple segments of the community to come together to help with this project. Participants have included students, parents, teachers, administrators, as well as people from nearby colleges and universities, corporations, chambers of commerce, and non-profit organizations. This group of participants has identified the core competencies of a graduate and now seeks feedback from the community before this work is brought to the Board of Education.
