The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and District 204 recently honored First Student Bus Driver Holly Crawford with the A+ Award.
You can watch the A+ Award team's surprise visit to recognize Crawford for "Making a Difference" at A+ Award video.
Several Brooks Elementary students, who described their driver as very caring and sweet, submitted the nomination. One student said, "She has a great sense of humor and makes us laugh, and she respectfully talks to us if we make a mistake."
Crawford has been a bus driver in District 204 since 2014. She shared that she takes the extra steps to connect with students because she was bullied on the bus when she was young. "It's important to me to make sure the students feel comfortable and that their day begins and ends with a smile and positive spirit," Crawford said.
Wells Fargo Advisors is partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Wells Fargo Advisors is donating $500 for the staff member to use in his or her school.
