Principal's Message on Student Incident
Reported by 204-enews@ipsd.org on 11/15/19
The message below was sent via phone from Principal Cecelia Tobin to Wheatland Academy parents on November 14. As this is a police matter, the school and the district will have no further statement on the incident.
This is Principal Tobin with a message for Wheatland Academy parents. I want to let you know about a situation involving one of our students. We became aware of a student making threatening comments and we immediately contacted the Naperville Police so they could investigate, including conducting a visit to the student’s home. Please know that although threatening remarks were made, no students or staff were in danger. The police and the school district take situations like this seriously and both student discipline and police consequences are occurring. We appreciate the work of the Naperville Police in keeping our school safe. Please take a moment to speak with your child about always reporting suspicious activity to a trusted adult. Thank you and have a good evening.
