PTA Announcements for 12/2/19

Fry PTA is collecting hygiene items for gift baskets that are donated to families in need in District 204. Please consider donating the following items for this cause:
-Full size shampoo and conditioner
-Toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss
-Deodorant (male and female)
-Face wash, body wash, bars of soap
-Gift cards time Target or Walmart
The items can be placed in the sharing bins throughout the school. Thank you for your contribution!

Fry Families United Night (FFUN) is right around the corner on December 10th! We need YOU to make the night a success! Volunteer to set up or clean up, serve food, or help at a game or craft table. Sign up here:

You can also share a dish or sweet your family enjoys while celebrating. Store bought or homemade are both welcome as long as they are NUT FREE. A recipe form was sent out today. Fill it out, sign up using the link above, and bring your dish to FFUN! All recipes received will be used in a digital recipe book representing Fry’s wonderfully diverse community!

The PTA is excited to announce we have 2 Disney World Park Hopper Passes to raffle off!!! Tickets are valued at $169-$219 each (depending on which day you choose). Tickets may be used from now until February 27, 2021 (with the exception of Dec 25-31st).

Raffle tickets are only $10/each and you many purchase as many as you like between 12/2-12/10. Please pay through PAYPAL at and choose to send through the friends and family option. Note your child’s name, classroom and phone number in the message. If you don’t have Paypal, you may send a check (payable to Fry PTA) or cash with your child’s name, classroom and phone number in an envelope to the office. The WINNER will be chosen on December 10th at FFUN.

The Fry PTA Junior Great Books (JGB) program for 2nd to 5th grade students is beginning in January. JGB is similar to a book club in which students read short stories from a specific book and then meet to discuss what they have read. It encourages students to think critically as they read. The sessions will be held on Wednesdays during the student’s lunch and recess period. The program begins on January 22, 2020, and lasts 9 weeks. If your child would like to participate, please find attachment with letter and form below. Form should be returned to his or her classroom teacher along with the appropriate participation fee by Friday, December 20, 2019.
