Digging up Fossils

Reported by on 1/24/20

As part of their life science unit students in Mrs. Venkat's class investigated how a model can help them infer about past environments. To simulate how layers of rocks contain fossils the 3V scientists used clay and small objects to hide some fossils for another group to dig up. Each layer of clay represented a different type of environment. As they unearthed the objects they discussed how the layers changed over the years and the environment each "fossil" would have formed in.
