Inspire all students to achieve their greatest potential
Longwood 5K Donation Drive
Reported by jared_folley@ipsd.org on 3/2/20
Longwood Families,
Are you coming to the Run with the Lions 5K Run / Walk on Saturday, April 25 at St. James Farm in Warrenville? This event is the major fundraiser for the PTA this year. It is a great way to build community within our school and keep our students active while raising money to enhance the educational experience at Longwood. Current Longwood students register for free until April 12, so please register to participate with your student at https://www.runwiththelions.com.
All money that the PTA raises goes back into the school and classrooms, helping to make our school better each year. A few things that the PTA supports include classroom parties, field trips, family fun nights, and many school enhancement projects such as the Maker Space in the LMC.
Here’s how you can help our Longwood Lions make this donation drive successful. Each child will have the opportunity to ask family, friends, and neighbors to financially support them for the run/walk, and we encourage you to accompany them and support them in their efforts.
You can collect your sponsorship money in one of two ways.
1. Online donations – Go to https://www.runwiththelions.com, click on “REGISTER NOW,” click on “DONATE,” find a student’s name, and donate using a credit card. Parents/guardians, you will need to set up a fundraising page for your child in order to collect online donations. It is easy to do! Instructions are attached here!
2. Donation form – Collect cash or check donations and bring them in to the office in an envelope marked “5K Donation Drive.” Checks should be made out to Longwood PTA with your child’s name on the memo line. All cash/check donations are due into the office by Monday, March 23, but feel free to bring them in earlier. You can also bring in your spare change in a bag marked with your name and 5K!
THE PLEDGE DRIVE STARTS ON MONDAY, MARCH 9 and
ENDS ON SUNDAY, MARCH 22.
ALL DONATIONS ARE DUE ON MONDAY, MARCH 23.
