News From the Nest - April 17th

Reported by on 4/17/20

Dear Graham Families,

We have completed almost 4 weeks in total of Remote Learning, 5 weeks since this all began. I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for the flexibility and support the Graham Community has demonstrated during what has been an especially challenging time for us all. I also want to the thank the entire staff of Graham School for their hard work, their dedication to their craft and their commitment to the students at Graham. We know that there will, most likely, be more changes coming our way, but we know everything will be alright because at Graham, we may be small, but we are mighty!

This morning in the Falcon Friday call, I asked the students at Graham to join me in sending a note of thanks, appreciation or encouragement to the healthcare workers who are on the frontlines of this crisis ready to serve those who need them. We have many professionals in our own Graham Community who are helping/serving others to help those who need care. If you would like to write a note or send a card, you can mail them to the following:

Edward Hospital -OR- Rush Copley Heroes

Attn: Health Worker Attn: Lisa Lapinski

801 S. Washington Street Rush Copley Foundation

Naperville, IL 60540 2000 Odgen Ave.

Aurora, IL. 60504

Although we are not together “in the building” and we miss all our students – Graham Falcons are In This Together! Let’s show everyone how awesome Graham School is and show off our Falcon Pride! We would like to make a video montage of pictures of as many students and staff members as we can get! We are hoping to get everyone! To be a part of the #inthistogetherGraham video – it is simple:

1. Have your student make a sign that says #inthistogetherGraham - they can decorate it however they want! The sign can be plain and simple or very colorful.

2. Take a picture of your student(s) – please only one picture per family

3. Email the picture to Darlene Stone ( **by sending the picture – you are agreeing to allow the picture to be used in a video montage that will be shared with the school community and on social media.

Please send your pictures to Darlene Stone by Tuesday, April 21st!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at

Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing weekend.

Stay strong and stay healthy

Ms. Walton
