Remote Learning Monday Schedule Change

Trailblazer Families,

Our Middle School bell schedule was shared with families during the second week of August. Since then, we have been working to clearly define the Monday schedule and provide a structure that best meets the needs of our students. The revised Monday schedule is listed below. Please note that this does not impact the instructional minutes that were originally offered but instead breaks the day into clearly defined periods. The schedule below will only apply to Mondays.

Students will see each of their teachers on Monday to set the educational tone for the upcoming week. Teachers will be working with the whole class during these times. Instruction will be live for at least 15 minutes each period.

MONDAY MORNING

8:00 –8:35 Period 1
8:35 - 9:00 Period 2
9:00 - 9:25 Period 3
9:25 - 9:50 Period 4
9:50 - 10:15 Period 5
10:15 - 10:40 Period 6
10:40 - 11:05 Period 7
11:05 - 11:30 Period 8
11:30 - 11:55 Period 9

First period is 10 minutes longer to include Homeroom time

Monday can be the “preview day” (and review of previous learning) - introduce the WHAT, HOW, and WHY of the week’s remote learning. Teachers may also work on interventions with students during this time.

Teachers will end their Zoom a few minutes early to allow students to transition to their next class.

All students will have a 25 minute screen break built into their schedules during their “Unlunch” Period (Similar to the T-F schedule, students have a lunch period in their schedules when they will not be eating, this will be a time for a brain break, a screen break and, bathroom break.)

MONDAY AFTERNOON

12:00-12:30 - Student and Teacher Lunch Time
12:30 - 1:00 - Drop Everything & Read - Students spend 30 minutes independently reading
