Reported by jennifer_albert@ipsd.org on 9/3/20
Good evening,
We are incredibly excited to start the 2020-2021 school year with your students tomorrow, September 3 at 8:00am. The staff at Scullen have been working diligently to develop lessons for your children that foster relationships, reflect on relevance to the work and lessons, and focus on the importance of rigor to challenge our students. We cannot wait to see your children in class tomorrow.
Below are a few items that you will want to double check prior to September 3rd at 8am. We highly recommend that you sit with your child and their chromebook to see that they can complete the following tasks.
Be sure your chromebook is fully charged
Login to your Chromebook
Be sure your child has their username. You can locate your child’s username in ParentVUE under “Student Information.”
Be sure your child knows their password.

Each class that your child is enrolled in will have a Google Classroom
What should I do Thursday morning before class?
Log into your chromebook early, set up your work space, be ready to learn
Open your 1st period Google Classroom, keep this page handy as you will need it for class
Open StudentVUE and find the zoom link for your 1st period class, select Join and wait for your teacher to begin the zoom session
*In the event that you are unable to join the Zoom or other issues arise, tune into your teacher’s Google Classroom so that we can communicate with you and get you on track
As a reminder, teachers will be taking attendance during remote learning. Parents and guardians need to report your child as absent should they be unable to participate in remote learning. Your child’s absence can be reported the same as in the past by calling our student attendance line at (630)428-7002 or through ParentVUE.
