REFLECTIONS 2020-21: theme is "I Matter Because..."

3 weeks to go for submission!! Last date for submission is Oct 29, 2020 through an online link.

There are 6 arts categories:

Visual Arts, Literature, Photography, Music Composition, Dance Choreography and Film Production.

There is a special artist division too.

Awards: Certificate of recognition at all levels, Yearbook entry, School morning announcements with names listed (and group picture if possible), an opportunity to advance your talent to Nationals and more

October Photo Contest

Open to all Scullen students.

September’s Photo Contest was creatively conducted on the Scullen Parents Facebook Page. For October’s contest – you can still post your picture on FB OR you can email it to one of our Photo Committee Co-Chairs: Deepika Behera: behera.deepika29@gmail.com Heather Eddy: heedy@kees2success.com

(Email is preferred method because the resolution is better received so that we can make a picture collage to share with you & Scullen staff).

Either way, you will be entered into our drawing for prizes!

The contest will run October 7 – 13. The October theme is “FALL: Falling into Online Learning”. Send a picture via email or post on the Scullen Parents FB page of your student that creatively reflects fall and online learning. Please note – you will need to include your student’s first name and last initial (for privacy reasons) and grade/team level.

Please send in your entries no later than 7pm on Tuesday, October 13th. No exceptions will be allowed.

4 winners per grade will be randomly chosen and notified of their prize. We can’t wait to see all their friendly faces.

October Restaurant Night: Thursday, Oct. 15 – MOD Pizza

20% of profits will be donated back to Scullen PTSA. This was one of our most successful restaurant nights last year, so we’re hoping for another great one next week!

PTSA 2020-2021 Meeting Dates (all meetings will be on Thursdays and via Zoom):

· October 22, 2020 – 9:30 am – Courtney DiFiore, Asst. Principal will be our guest. She will be sharing information on Aimsweb assessment as well as communication for the PSAT 8/9 assessment.

· November 19, 2020 – 1:30 pm

· December 17, 2020 – 9:30 am – Dr. Talley, Superintendent, IPSD 204 will be our guest.

· January 21, 2021 – 6:00 pm

· February 18, 2021 – 1:30 pm

· March 18, 2021 – 1:30 pm

· April 22, 2021 – 9:30 am

· May 20, 2021 – 1:30 pm
