Hello Graham Families,
Here is a look at what is happening in the next few weeks:
Let’s Welcome Back our Graham Staff
The Graham teachers and staff will be coming back to school the week of November 2nd. We would like to welcome them back in style with some prepackaged snacks in the lounge. If you would like to donate a box of snacks, please click on this link and sign up. In addition, at snack drop off I will have a poster board for your student to sign to leave a note saying hello to their teachers.
Deadline to donate is Friday October 30th.
That Burger Joint/Oberweis Restaurant Night
Our next restaurant night is Wednesday October 21 from 3-9 PM at Oberweis and That Burger Joint. Take a night off from cooking and support Graham at the same time. The flyer is attached at the bottom, you do not need to bring it as long as you mention Graham when ordering. Please note, online orders and third party delivery services are NOT included.
The theme for this year's Reflections is “I Matter Because…” Reflections provides opportunities for recognition in six different areas of the arts including: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. All submissions will be through the website https://sites.google.com/view/ippc-reflections. Questions can go to Co-Chair Alissa Krusoe (email@example.com). Entries are due by 10/29.
Red Ribbon Week:
Schools across the nation participate in Red Ribbon Week October 26-30 to encourage a drug free life for all of our children! The Graham PTA has planned special activities to honor this initiative and raise awareness through grade level. Each Day will be a different dress up theme.

Tuesday - Bring your Pet or Favorite Stuffed Animal to the morning zoom meeting
Wednesday - Crazy Hair Day
Thursday - Wear your pajamas to school
Friday - Say Boo to Drugs - see you at the Harvest Party!
Please see the attached flyer for an overview!
Matt Wilheim Anti-Bullying Assembly
From the stage of “America's Got Talent” watch Matt Wilhelm's Amazing Virtual BMX Stunt Show. Wilhelm is a Guinness World Record Holder, 2-time National Champion, and World Championship silver and bronze medalist. He won “America's Got Talent” YouTube competition and advanced to the semi-finals on the television show.
Matt Wilhelm's virtual show features the same exciting tricks and character messages from his in-person shows, and adds things that can not normally be done during a regular show. Watch Matt ride glow-in-the-dark like he did on “America's Got Talent.” There will be an entire segment filmed with a GoPro helmet camera so you can see how it feels to ride like a pro BMX rider. Matt will also attempt to break his Guinness World record during the show.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to see Matt's show and hear his message live on Zoom on Monday October 26th at 2:00 PM. Link to be sent closer to the assembly.
Get your costumes ready - we will be having a Zoom Harvest Party on Friday October 30th from 12:30 - 1:10 PM! On the lunchtime zoom call we will combine grades so kids will have a chance to see more school friends. We will have three zoom rooms consisting of Kindergarten with 1st grade, 2nd with 3rd grade, and 4th with 5th grade. We will have a costume share, have some fun games to play, and decorate a falcon activity for kids to enjoy. Be on the lookout for more details and the link closer to the event.
Family Fun Night - Bandingo!
We are excited to announce for our first virtual Family Fun Night we will be playing Bandingo! Bandingo is a form of Bingo set to music using song titles instead of numbers on each card. Join us on Friday November 6th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm for this FREE family event. Please fill out the form below to sign up. Please note that your cards will be sent to you from firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) facilitates monthly discussions to promote collaboration amongst parents and district staff to address equity and diversity, and share best practices in order to improve experiences and opportunities for all students. The meetings are open to District 204 parents, staff, and community. Each school in the district has a PDAC representative. We would love to have two representatives for Graham to really work on promoting the message at our school. We already have one and are looking for anyone else who might be interested and want to help. Please reach out to Tracie Skindzier at email@example.com if you have questions or want to help.
