Indian Prairie School District 204’s Board of Education approved the appointment of Matthew Shipley as Chief School Business Official. He is replacing Jay Strang, who is retiring this year.
For the past four years, Shipley has served as District 204’s Comptroller, administering all financial and business services of the district. Prior to that he was Assurance Manager at RSM US LLP.
Superintendent Dr. Adrian Talley said Shipley was selected for his forward thinking of the direction of the budget office under his leadership. “He has some very specific plans to ensure that there is a clear understanding among the community about the role of the budget office and showing the return on investment for taxes that are paid by the community to support our students and schools,” said Dr. Talley. “Mr. Shipley also demonstrates a strong commitment to the school district and a desire to ensure its success. He will do an outstanding job in his new role.”
Shipley received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois. He also received a Chief School Business Official endorsement from Northern Illinois University.
He will begin his new role on July 1, 2021.
