Superintendent's Winter Break Message

Dear District 204 Community,

As we begin Winter Break, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the support you showed our families experiencing challenges this holiday season. Before making the decision to join Indian Prairie, I listened closely to the words used to describe this community. People described the community as compassionate, caring, and supportive of its children and its schools. The description was clearly no exaggeration as demonstrated through this year’s Indian Prairie Parents’ Council Holiday Giving Program.

We asked you to please consider participating in this charitable program that provides direct support to our families experiencing hardships, including our homeless families. Your support this year was overwhelming. More than $45,000 was collected in a two-week period.

Most of us can only imagine the difficulty of not being able to provide even the smallest gifts to our children. Thanks to your generosity, this will not be an issue for more than 200 families who will experience a brighter holiday. I sincerely thank the parents, staff and community members who supported this program. And a special thank you to the Indian Prairie Parents’ Council for partnering with us to support our families.
