CAAEL begins at IPHS

Reported by Daniel_Woulfe@ipsd.org on 9/14/16

Indian Plains is a proud member of the Chicago Area Alternative Education League. CAAEL, a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, has been providing a full spectrum of academic, athletic and art programs to the Chicagoland area's most at-risk youth since 1976. CAAEL participants attend over 50 alternative schools from 79 public school districts spanning 8 Illinois counties.

The customized leagues and events which take place during the school day help students develop compassion, tolerance, and work as a team.

CAAEL truly is a celebration of what at-risk kids are capable of as it improves school attendance, increases compliance with school expectations and enhances academic performance.

Our CAAEL flag football season begins at the end of September followed by volleyball, basketball, chess, and softball.
