November 15th – Chipotle Dinner Night Out 4:00-8:00pm - RT 59 location by Meijer
50% of the proceeds will be going to back to our school!! We are hoping to use any funds raised that evening to help bring Watch DOGS to Cowlishaw!
November 28th – Informal PTA Meeting 9:30am at Chick Fil A
The Cowlishaw Book Fair is coming in early November and we need your help to make it a success! We need volunteers for set up, preview, sales, and tear down. Remember, proceeds from all sales go right back to the LMC for new books and materials. Sign up to volunteer using the link below. COWLISHAW TEACHER AND STAFF WISHLISTS
The PTA has asked our teachers and staff to provide us with a wishlist of things they would like for the classroom or just for fun. They are posted on the school website under the PTA tab. Feel free to use them as a guide if you would like to get your child’s classroom teacher and/or other Cowlishaw staff a little thank you gift this year! Questions? FIFTH GRADE FAREWELL
ATTN: 5th Grade Parents - Can you believe this is their last year at Cowlishaw Elemantary?
Let’s send them off to 6th grade with a memorable 5th Grade Farewell!!
Join us on Nov. 11 (Friday) at 9:30am at Whole Foods to continue our plans to give the 5th graders a fun filled send off.
We would like more help to make this a memorable year for all the 5th graders.

The Box Tops results are in!
The grand winner for the 2016 Fall Box Top Collection Contest is 2M, Mrs McClouds classroom, with 355 box tops! Wait for the announcements to hear about your prize.
A close second was 4D, Mrs Dickerson’s class, with 341 box tops and in third was 4G, Mrs Gurnsey’s classroom, with 265 box tops. Congratulations!!
Thank you to all students and families who submitted their clipped box tops! Please remember to keep clipping for the Spring Contest in February. Send those box tops in with your child’s classroom clearly labeled on the bag or envelop.
This program supports many of the PTA-funded programs such as Accelerated Reader, assemblies, and more.

PTA WELCOME COMMITTEE
We would like to welcome parents who are new to the school this year! The mission of the Welcome Committee is to help new families become familiar with the school, as well as the area communities.
Please join us at the first orientation program for new families scheduled on November 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the multi-purpose room. During the orientation, we will go over some school policies and general information that are detailed in the welcome packet along with question and answer session. You will also have a chance to meet other new families coming to school this year.
For those of you who are unable to attend the orientation, feel free to write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have many bilingual Ambassadors who would love to help you with any questions related to school.

The Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) invite you to a districtwide discussion focused on Chapter 2 of the Mindset book by Carol Dweck. It is not necessary to have read the chapter or book. The topic of the discussion is: What Do We Do When Our Students Fail? Changing the Meaning of Failure and Effort. Stephen Garlington from the DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE) will lead in presentation on Tuesday, November 15th, 7:00-9:00 pm, at Crouse Education Center (CEC), 780 Shoreline Drive.
