Our school is raising donations for the American Heart Association to fight heart disease and stroke. I hope you will consider making a donation to our campaign. Did you know that heart disease and stroke are our nation’s #1 and #5 killers – for both men and women? However, the good news is that 80% of heart disease is preventable!
Have you already taken steps to make healthy lifestyle changes? If so, AWESOME! If you have not yet done so, here are a few websites to get you moving in the right direction:
www.heart.org – AHA main website (Just put what you are specifically looking for in the “search” area.
http://mylifecheck.heart.org - Life’s Simple 7 is a great web site to self assess your heart disease risk factors and learn what can be done to lessen the risks. You can make very simple changes and extend your life expectancy. Here s one simple suggestion: 1 hour of physical activity can increase your life expectancy by 2 hours.
www.handsonlycpr.org - Are you familiar with CPR but have not taken the time to become certified? Did you know that if someone is having a heart attack, just doing chest compressions until Emergency Services arrive may help to save a life? Check out this website (and share it with your kids as well) to find out more today!
In order for the American Heart Association to continue its’ fight against heart disease and stroke they need folks to support their efforts. Every dollar raised will go toward life saving education and research.
Thank you for helping!
