OPEN HOUSE… Welch’s Open House is coming up on February 21st from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for students to highlight and share all they have learned this year with their families. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

MULTICULTURAL READING NIGHT… Please see the attachment for information about District 204’s Multicultural Reading Night on March 9, 2017 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Still Middle School.

BOOK DRIVE… Do you have books you no longer need? Do you have books you'd like to share with others? We have an opportunity for you to donate your gently-used books to a great cause. A local student is doing a community service initiative. She is collecting for local organizations like People’s Resource Center. Please help this cause to make a difference in the lives of people who don't have access to the books we are so privileged to have. You may drop off any books at the designated box starting Monday, February 13th through Friday, March 7th. Thank you in advance for your support!

STUDENT ATTENDANCE and TARDIES… If your child is absent from school, please contact the attendance line to report that they are missing. That number is 630.428.7200 x3. Please note that it is important to contact the attendance line and not the teacher. Welch must verify that all students are accounted for, and we mark students as unexcused if we don’t hear from a parent/guardian regarding their absence. The absence line is available 24 hours a day— please identify your student’s name, teacher and reason for their absence when reporting. If your student is arriving late to school they must be accompanied into the building with an adult to be signed in. Thank you!

2017-2018 KINDERGARTEN PRE-REGISTRATION… If you have a child who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2017, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2017-18 school year. We are pleased to offer ALL-DAY kindergarten for your child.

You are invited and encouraged to attend a Kindergarten Parent Preview Night on April 19, 2017 at 6:30 PM in our LMC. At this meeting, we will provide a detailed look at what the kindergarten experience will offer. You will also be provided with more details related to registration requirements and deadlines. This night is designed for parents and guardians only.

We need the Pre-Registration ( ) information as soon as possible, but no later than February 24, 2017 so that we can begin planning kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming school year. This Pre-Registration information will be used to form a kindergarten mailing list. Once on the mailing list, additional information will be mailed to eligible kindergarten parents. Information regarding registration will be available after April.

If you have any neighbors who do not presently have school-aged children, but will have an incoming kindergartner, please give them a copy of this form or ask them to call our office at 630.428.7200 so that we can send them this information. I look forward to meeting you at the Kindergarten Parent Preview Night!
TEAM IPEF… Help make a difference for our students. There's still time for you to be part of the excitement. You have until February 18 to join Team IPEF and run on behalf of our school in the 5th Annual Naperville Half Marathon on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Since 2014, Team IPEF has raised more than $300,000 for District 204 schools and programs supported by the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation. Half of all money raised goes directly back to your child's school. The other portion goes toward supporting district-wide programs. You can join more than 175 teammates who have already committed to make a difference. Sign up today at
