National Merit Finalists Announced

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced 55 students from District 204 were named Finalists in the 62nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 15,000 Finalists across the nation have been selected for their exceptional academic promise. These academically talented high school seniors are eligible to compete for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships totaling $33 million.
National Merit Finalists from Metea Valley High School are: Kalpa Anjur, Kavya Anjur, Rohin Bhasin, Michael Chen, Dean Chou, Christopher Danner, James Drayton, Samyuktha Iyer, Julia Jansen, Kieran Kaempen, Lori Kipp, Arpan Laha, Jungin Lee, Shreyas Mohan, Sung-Keun Park, Vishal Prakash, Sandhya Sivakumar, John Tjards and Allison Yu.
National Merit Finalists from Neuqua Valley High School are: Utkarsh Awasthi, Aakash Basu, Vanessa Cai, Dustin Chen, Jessica Chen, Lydia Chung, Tejas Gajula, Grace Hong, Thomas Huang, Michael Ji, Janani Kalyan, Aishwarya Katiki, Amber Keahey, Anna Li, Avni Limdi, Rishab Nagori, Vishal Narasimhan, Lokesh Nasaka, Lilly Nie, Sejal Parmar, Neema Prakash, Suhirtha Raj, Kevin Rosa, Alexander Shura, Shreya Sridhara, Jonathan Sun, Kruti Sutaria and Bernie Wang.
National Merit Finalists from Waubonsie Valley High School are: Hana Ahmed, Corey Barker, Noah Brookes, Edward Guan, Tiffany Kuta, Kelley Powell, Aashna Shah and Serena Zhu.
Approximately 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
