Fry Elementary Announcements for the Week of 2-21-17
Open House TONIGHT!
Doors open at 6:30! Families are invited to tour the school anytime between 6:30-8:00. The students are excited to show off their work and give you a glimpse of their school day!
It’s Book Fair Time!
Students, parents, and community members are invited to shop during the following days and times. During school hours, please remember to sign in at the office.
FRY LMC BOOK FAIR HOURS
Tuesday, Feb. 21st 8:45 am – 4:15 pm
& 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Open House
Wed, Feb. 22nd 9:00 am – 4:15 pm
Thursday, Feb. 23rd 8:45 am – 4:15 pm
Friday, Feb. 24th 8:45 am – 12:00 pm
If you plan to send money with your child for the book fair, please include 7.5% sales tax. Checks may be sent and made payable to Fry Elementary. Please include your phone number on all checks. If you prefer to shop with your child, we will be accepting all major credit cards. Books shown on the flyer we are sending home or on wish lists are not guaranteed to still be at the fair when you visit, however, you would have the option to purchase them on the ABC Fairs website and have them sent to school – free shipping and our school receives a percentage of the profit! We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming fair. All proceeds from sales at the book fair go towards purchasing additional materials for our library. As always, your support is greatly appreciated!
Old Town Pizza - Friday Fundraiser
This Friday, Feb. 24th, is Fry/Old Town Pizza Day! Please use the attached flyer when ordering. A portion of each sale comes back to Fry!
Crossing Guard Substitute Needed
We are in need of a substitute crossing guard. This is a great way to try out the position! Please contact the office for more information about the application process.
The Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) invite you to a districtwide discussion focused on Chapter 5 of the Mindset book by Carol Dweck on Thursday, February, 23rd, 7:00-9:00 pm, at Crouse Education Center (CEC), 780 Shoreline Drive. It is not necessary to have read the chapter or book. The topic of the discussion is: Call to Collaboration with District Parent Organizations. The Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) in conjunction with the Metea Valley High School PDAC committee, invite you to attend a FREE screening of the film: Most Likely to Succeed. An acclaimed film offering an inspiring look at what students and teachers are doing in schools. The screening will take place on Friday, March 10th, 6:30 pm, at Metea Valley High School (auditorium). For additional information and to RSVP, please visit THIS LINK.
We are now taking pre-registration for 2017-18 Kindergarten. Students must be 5 years old on or before 9/1/17. Please return the attached forms to the office. If you have a neighbor with a potential kindergarten student, please share this information. Thank you!
