Service Project (3/13-3/24)

In a partnership with Edward Hospital, the Student Councils from Nancy Young and McCarty Elementary schools are asking for your support in their treasure box program. This drive runs from March 13-24 and collection bins will be in the LMC’s for both schools

The purpose of a treasure box program is to provide pediatric patients with a prize after they have completed a procedure, test, or clinic visit. Not only is the prize a reward for completing the procedure successfully but it is a positive reinforcement of their cooperation and brave behavior. It also is the last thing they get before they leave to go home so it shows them that their visit is completed. Edward Hospital has a treasure box in every unit that provides services for pediatric patients.

The items found in a treasure box are smaller items and for all ages. We prefer to stay away from happy meal type toys. Attached is a small list of items that are great ideas to put in the treasure box. I hope you use this list as a springboard that will foster more creativity on the types of items you are able to donate.

From the Student Council sponsors at McCarty and Young Elementary Schools, we thank you for your consideration.
