Kane County Cougars Reading Club – It’s not too late to get in on the fun of a baseball game! Bases are due this week! The special games for us are on May 13 at 1:00 pm and May 30 at 6:30 pm. Students who earn this ticket, at the game they will get a Cougars drawstring bag, a free hot dog and drink to enjoy during the game!
Great America Tickets – Even though the date has passed . . . I’m still accepting reading logs! Did you know if you purchased a ticket for Great America for your student, you’d spend more than $46 . . . get a FREE one instead.
Spark a Fire and Read – Begins April 1. We are gearing up for our Spark a Fire & Read school-wide reading challenge! Students are gathering their teams of up to eight members. They will appoint a Top Dog and a name for their team. Starting April 1st all the fun begins! Students will read 140 minutes each week and turn in their time weekly to their Top Dog. Throughout the month, I find a reason for all teams to win - longest team name, first team to turn in time, all girl team, all boy team, smallest team, best team t-shirt design, most improved, etc.! Everyone is a winner when we read!!! Our school-wide goal is to read 226,800 minutes during the month of April. We have always blown that goal out of the water!!! I know we can do it again!
Ask your student if he or she has joined a group yet . . . if not, help them form one and sign up: http://bit.ly/Sparkafire
