Dear Brooks Families,

Happy Spring Break! Enjoy every moment with your family!

Earth Day 2017 – ‘Greening our school’ Markers and Crayons Recycling

Do you have markers that you no longer need or don’t work? Do you have crayons that you no longer need and you'd like to share with others? Here is an excellent opportunity for you to donate your crayons and recycle your markers. In honor of Earth Day 2017, the STEM Awareness Program is collecting used markers to be repurposed with Crayola’s ‘ColorCycle’ Program. In addition to that, we will be collecting used and broken crayons to be recycled and donated to Children’s Hospitals throughout the country through ‘The Crayon Initiative’ Program. Please help us in greening our school, helping a cause and protecting our planet. You may drop off any used markers and used and/or broken crayons in the designated boxes by the front display cases starting Monday, April 3rd, through Friday, April 21st, 2017. Thank you in advance for your support! Go Green!!

For more information on Crayola’s ‘ColorCycle’ Program and the ‘The Crayon Initiative Program, please visit their websites at –

Come join us on Thursday, April 6 from for Brooks’ Open House. Families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, talk with teachers and view the amazing work completed by our students. We are proud of our students’ work and the resources afforded to our students. We welcome you to see and interact with the musical instruments, the art equipment, technology and the LMC Maker Space materials. However, we respectfully ask you to supervise your children so all our resources are handled with care and respect. We look forward to seeing you for Open House!

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade students for completing PARCC assessments! Our 3rd grade students will begin PARCC testing immediately following Spring Break, April 3-12. Thank you for considering these dates when traveling or scheduling appointments.
