Optional Parent Input Form for 17-18

Dear Young Families,

Young School’s goal for class list development is to create classes that represent the learning needs of all our students. Young staff consider equal distribution of boys and girls, students’ needs with regard to academic proficiency across all content areas, learning styles, behavioral dynamics, and peer relationships. The utilization of this information along with the teacher’s knowledge of the students ensures that class lists are developed in a thorough and comprehensive manner.

If there is pertinent information that you feel the school should take into consideration regarding your child’s placement for the 2017-18 school year, please utilize the form below to share this information in writing. Please note that requests to have a particular classroom teacher or for specific friends to be placed together cannot be honored. We also ask that parents not put teachers into a situation where staff members have to answer questions or make statements about their colleagues in regards to a child’s placement for the upcoming school year.

If you choose to complete this optional form, please submit it to Ms. Morgan via email ( or in hard copy to the school office by Monday, May 3. Specific teacher requests will not be recognized. Forms with specific teacher requests will be returned to parents.

Please know that Young School has a staff of excellent educators who bring their strengths and talents to the classroom. Every teacher’s desire is to help Young students achieve their potential (academic, social, and emotional) in a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
