"These things are not every day. It's a unique opportunity." — Brian Giovanini, Director of Elective Curriculum
Marketing students once again participated in a real-world project that went beyond the classroom walls.
Through a partnership with the City of Naperville and the Naperville Park District, students were asked to become park planners and create proposals to provide direction on the development of 33 acres of vacant land in south Naperville. Southwest Community Park, located on Wolf's Crossing Road, is Naperville Park District's last undeveloped park. More than 300 students from all three high schools participated in the project. The top team from each high school presented their concepts to a panel of judges that included Mayor Steve Chirico, members of the Naperville Park District, City Council, Naperville Development Partnership and other local business leaders.
