Kane County Reading Program… All Kane County Cougar reading parent verification slips are due next Tuesday. The Welch game day is Sunday, May 21st at 1:00pm.

Registration… Registration packets for the 2017-2018 school year will be coming out the week of April 24th. Stay tuned!

Autism Awareness… April is Autism Awareness Month. During the month of April, Mrs. Daly and Ms. Wortham’s classes will be selling puzzle piece pins in the School Store for $1.00 to promote Autism Awareness. The puzzle pattern symbolizes the mystery and complexity of Autism. The different colors and shapes represent the diversity of the people and families living with this diagnosis. The brightness of the ribbon represents hope. Hope through research and hope by increasing awareness of people like you! By wearing this pin you will support individuals with autism and embrace the amazing. Thank you for showing your support!

Also, on April 21st Welch White Tigers will be “Lighting it up Blue” for autism. Wear Blue on Friday April 21st and show your support to all of our friends with Autism.

Welch Birthday Table… We are thrilled to invite parents into our lunchroom to eat lunch with their student(s) on their birthday! We ask that when you come in for the birthday lunch that you sit at our special birthday table. This will provide you and your student a special opportunity to celebrate, and will ensure that students with allergies are not exposed to any potential allergens. Thank you!

PTA Officer Elections… The 2017-2018 Welch PTA officer elections will be held on a night meeting as usual, on Wednesday April 19 at 7 pm in the MPR at Welch. Since we need a quorum of 10 PTA members to vote, please attend if you are able. The nominating committee submitted the following slate for nomination at the March meeting:
President: Mary Beth Satvedi
Vice President: Michelle Licitra
Treasurer: Wendy Barth
Secretary: Amy Morton

Welch PTA Skyzone Fundraiser… Welch Parents and students, don't forgot about the PTA's fundraiser Friday April 21 from 4-8 pm at Sky Zone. Sky Zone is located near the Fox Valley Mall, 87 Executive Drive, Aurora. Feel free to bring along other family members or friends! Just have them mention that they are there for the Welch PTA Fundraiser. More people means more money for the kids!! PARENTS – There will not be any supervision provided by the PTA or Staff of Welch school. You and your kids are participating at your own risk. An added bonus, Sky Zone will be giving the class with the most student participants a jump party! It includes 1 hour of free jumping along with a drink and a slice of pizza. Date to be determined by Sky Zone. Please feel free to contact Tammy Smith Talbot (708-602-6764) if you have any questions or would be willing to sit at the door and help tally the student participants. Look forward to seeing everyone there!!

PTA Membership, Box Tops, and Student Directory Chairperson needed for 2017-2018 School Year. We are in need of a chairperson for next year to handle PTA Memberships, Box Tops, and the Student Directory. This can be three different people. Please consider these roles and contact for more information. She would like to begin the process of explaining these roles to a new person, since she will be leaving Welch for Scullen in the fall!
