Principal Message 4/23
Reported by email@example.com on 4/23/17
Dear Brooks Families,
Wow! We have another beautiful weekend! I hope you are enjoying time outside with your family. Please read for a LOT of important information and reminders!
Registration for 2017-2018
On Monday, April 24, students in grades K-4 will receive 2017-2018 registration packets in backpacks. Incoming Kindergarten students will receive their packet in the US mail. All registration packets are due back on Monday, May 8. Student registration drives the number of classrooms we have for each grade level. Therefore, it is critical for registration to be completed in a timely manner. If you know you will be moving, we kindly ask you to call the school office at 630-375-3200. Current 5th grade students will complete their registration through Granger.
Last week, you received an optional parent input form for classroom placement. If you are still interested in completing this form, I have attached another copy for your convenience. They are due no later than May 2. This is your opportunity to provide feedback on the learning environment that best meets your child’s needs. Please do not contact your child’s current teacher with a teacher request for next year. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If your child participates in a before school activity, please treat this drop off as you would the typical 8:50-9:05 drop off. Please use the front circle drive to form a single file line. Drop your child off along the curb side and proceed out of the parking lot. Parking in the diagonal slots to drop off your child, requires him/her to walk in between cars to reach the sidewalk. This is presenting a safety issue and we don’t want a child to be hit. Thank you for adhering to this important safety reminder.
Grade K and 2 Dental Exam
Illinois Dental exams for current students in grades K and 2 are due May 15. Please return these forms ASAP. If you have questions, you can call the health office at 630-375-3200.

Summer Reading Opportunity
I am proud to announce that we are bringing the Aurora Public Library Bookmobile back to Brooks School for summer book check out. I am currently working with the Aurora Public Library to finalize our dates/times. Right now, mark your calendars for Tuesday afternoons, starting the week of June 5. The Bookmobile will park right in the Brooks parking lot and allow our students to check out books. Our families with a Naperville address will be able to use their Naperville library card for reciprocal check out. Please stay tuned for further and specific information!!
Teacher Appreciation Note From PTA
Staff Appreciation week is being held May 1st through May 5th. The PTA has many wonderful things planned to show our Brooks staff how much we value them and what they do for our children every day. The theme for the week is: How Sweet it is to be Taught by YOU!
The schedule of events is as follows:
Monday- A “sweet” roll breakfast
Tuesday- You are the “BOMB!” surprises in staff mailboxes
Wednesday- Happy Hour with sodas and snacks
Thursday- Student appreciation letters delivered to staff
Help us show the Brooks staff how much we appreciate them by having your child write a special note to their teacher and/or any Brooks staff member using the attached form or pick up a copy at the office. Please have your child turn in their letter(s) to the office by Monday, May 1st.
If you are interested in donating any food items for the week:
