Principal's Message 5/21

Dear Brooks Families,
An enormous SHOUT OUT goes to Amy Cerny and Denise Klecka for organizing an incredible Family Fun Fair for our community. This couldn’t have happened without their leadership, organization and focus. An additional THANK YOU to all the volunteers who made this event happen. Our students were happy, excited and had so much fun. That’s what it’s all about!!
Congratulations to all our students who represented Brooks at the District 204 Fine Arts Festival— whether it be through artwork or the chorus performance. I am so proud of all your efforts, dedication and talent! A special thank you goes to Ms. Knutson, Mrs. Bushman and Mr. Mehta for leading our students and cultivating their talents!
Important Medication Reminder
If your child has medication and/or medical supplies in the Brooks Health Office, please read: Per the District protocol, all medications and/or medical supplies are to be picked up by parents on the last day of school. On June 2, health services personnel will be available to assist you throughout the day. If you are unable to pick up your student’s supplies on that date, please contact the health office at 630-375-3200. Reminder: if your child will have medication in the health office next year, new physician orders will be required.

Registration for 2017-2018
Registration was due on May 8!! Please submit your online registration and paperwork asap. You must register online and submit to Brooks. You will receive an email confirmation when it's accepted. Then, complete the registration packet that came home with your student. It must be returned to the Brooks Office. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter!
The fidget spinner craze has hit Brooks! While these gadgets are being touted as attention/focus supports, they are currently being used as toys for most of our students. They are becoming a distraction in the classroom on a daily basis. We kindly ask that all toys be kept at home to avoid interruption of instruction. If your child has a specific educational plan that requires “fidgets”, we kindly ask you to contact your child’s teacher. We will review your child’s plan to determine appropriateness of the fidget spinner. We thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
