First Day of School Information
Reported by email@example.com on 8/23/17
We are very excited to begin school tomorrow with our First through Fifth Grade students and on Friday with our Kindergarten students. For the first two days of this week, we ask everyone to meet their teachers on the blacktop in the back of the school. Teachers will be coming out at 8:50am with a sign indicating their room (i.e. Mrs. Baldwin in First Grade will have a sign that says 1B).
At 9:05am on Thursday, August 24th, we will come together to say the Pledge of Allegiance, talk about our Core Values and kick-off the start of another great school year at Brookdale Elementary. Once we ring the bell for the first time this school year, we will allow the teachers and students to come into the school. Unfortunately, parents are asked to NOT enter the building with their students. Please trust us, your children will be in good care with my staff.
If you arrive before teachers come outside, you may look for your class number painted on the blacktop. The numbers are:
On Friday, August 25th, teachers will meet their students on the blacktop once again. Once the 9:05am bell rings, all students will enter the school. We will say the Pledge of Allegiance once all the students are in their classrooms.
On Monday, August 28th, only Kindergarten teachers will meet their students on the blacktop. All other students will enter the school at 8:50am upon the first bell. At 9:05am, the Kindergarten teachers and students will enter the school.
On Tuesday, August 29th, everyone will enter the school as typical for the remainder of the school year.
Please know the Kindergarten and First Graders enter the school at Door #10 while Second thru Fifth Graders enter at Door #9. Both doors will be supervised by a staff member every morning. At dismissal, students being picked up by parents or care givers will exit as follows: Kindergarten/First Graders at Door #10, Second/Third Graders at Door #9 and Fourth/Fifth Graders at Door #8.
If you are new to Brookdale or need a refresher on how to use the Kiss-n-Ride lane on Redfield, please take time to watch this short video.
It gives a lot of great information, procedures and tips for a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal each day at Brookdale.
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning!
