Principal Message 8/27/17
Reported by email@example.com on 8/27/17
Dear Brooks Families,
The first two days of school have been spectacular. Our teachers are spending time getting to know our students and building a classroom community. Ask your child what special activities have occurred in their classroom that have facilitated relationship building and community!
I’m also pleased to know my “good weather dance” has worked! LOL We cannot be happier about the cool and beautiful start to the school year. Keep your fingers crossed our good luck continues.
Curriculum Night - SAVE THE DATE: Curriculum Night will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 6:00-7:35 PM. This is your opportunity to learn about your child’s classroom, the curriculum and grade level expectations. The format of this evening is for parents and students should not attend. Reserve your babysitter now!!
Buses - Thank you for your continued patience with late buses at the end of the day. Honestly, this is not due to the bus company! Our drivers are outstanding and are in the parking lot on time each day. For the first week of school, we have a very slow and deliberate dismissal process in order to account for the safe dismissal of every child. I promise, this process will get quicker!!
No School Reminder - We just started school, but already have 2 upcoming days off. Please remember there is no school on Friday, Sept. 1 (District Institute Day) and Monday, Sept. 4 (Labor Day).
Spirit Sticks - The PTA, along with the Brooks staff, are excited to bring Spirit Sticks to our school again this year. Spirit Sticks are small, custom embroidered patches that students can earn, collect and display on a key ring attached to their backpack. Spirit Sticks promote school spirit and participation.
The PTA has started your child’s collection again with a grade level Spirit Stick which will come home on Aug. 31. There will be many ways throughout the year for your child to earn additional Spirit Sticks to add to their ring, so please stay tuned. If you have any questions, please contact Samantha Leibold (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Michelle Masini (email@example.com).
