Dear Brooks Families,
Happy Labor Day Weekend! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful extended weekend! An incredible THANK YOU to all the parent volunteers who assisted during the arrival and dismissal of our students during the first days of school. Your dedication and commitment to our students is appreciated!
Curriculum Night - SAVE THE DATE: Curriculum Night will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 6:00-7:35 PM. This is your opportunity to learn about your child’s classroom, the curriculum and grade level expectations. The format of this evening is for parents and students should not attend. Reserve your babysitter now!!
Chromebook Pilot for 5th Grade Families- We are thrilled to announce that our 5th grade students will participate in District 204’s Chromebook pilot program. All 5th grade students will receive a Chromebook for instructional use. Fifth grade parents will be receiving important information as the year begins. Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 7 from 5:30-6:30 for a Parent training night! Immediately following at 7:00, please join us for the first PTA Meeting.
Academically Talented Parent Night: Each year, we identify students for a myriad of academic programs that support student needs. Each of these programs has a specific qualification process and criteria. On Tuesday, September 19 at 6:00 pm, Brooks will host a parent information night on how school assessment data is used to identify students for the following programs:
Math Acceleration (starting in grade 3)
Project Arrow (gifted program, also starting in grade 3)
If you are interested in learning more about the guidelines for these programs, please complete the RSVP below. You will also find specific information in the letter below.
Health Form and Immunizations: If your child is a new student or kindergarten student, you must turn in your health form and immunization form immediately (if you have not already done so). Thank you!
