Chicagoland Transition League

We are very excited to announce that District 204 has joined together with NCUSD 203’s Connections Program, Valley View School District 365U’s STEPS Campus, and District 99’s Transition Program to create the Chicagoland Transition League. The purpose of this league is to create additional social/healthy living opportunities and experiences for our adult students with disabilities as well as networking opportunities amongst staff. Please see the attached flyer with tentative dates/locations for this year’s league events.
Our kick- off event is this Friday, September 8 at the Edward Athletic and Event Center in Romeoville from 9:00am-11:30am. The purpose of this first event is to allow the kids to get to know each other through icebreaker activities and games. We know it is short notice, but we plan to go and join the fun!
We would like to make this opportunity programmatic, allowing all students in our STEPS community to go. Our plan is to cancel job sites this Friday so we can all go as a group to represent District 204. Each program is having t-shirts made with their school name and logo. Our shirt is maroon with gold details. All t-shirt orders have gone in but will not be ready for this Friday for any of the programs. We are asking the students to wear a shirt on Friday that is red/maroon in color so we can be identified as D204 Golden Eagles!
If your child does not regularly attend on Friday mornings, they are still invited to take part in this exciting opportunity. We just need you to email either Libby (Elizabeth) Jansen or Jen Broz as soon as possible so we can provide an accurate head count.
We are really looking forward to this social opportunity for our students and want to thank you in advance for your quick communication regarding attendance for Friday (only if student doesn’t normally attend) and for sending your student in a red/maroon shirt on Friday!
