Rock Star Day… Welch White Tigers have done an amazing job demonstrating The Welch Way this year! They have earned more than enough Tiger Paws to fill one of our hats, so Friday we will be celebrating the rock stars they are with ROCK STAR DAY! Students are invited to dress like a rock star Friday and will be enjoying music throughout the day and at lunch! Way to go, White Tigers! You ROCK!

Team IPEF… Thanks to Arnab Bose for representing Welch Elementary in the Naperville Half Marathon on Sunday, October 22. He will be running with Team IPEF as a charity partner on behalf of our school. In addition to running, he is also fundraising a minimum of $204 for 204. Half of all money he raises will come back to Welch while the rest goes to support district wide initiatives sponsored by the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation. That includes programs like STEM Family nights, teacher grants and the Annual Fine Arts Festival. It's a win-win as all funds help enrich education here in District 204. You can make a donation toward his efforts at

PDAC… On September 19th, the Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) hosted its first meeting of the school year with focused discussion on: Unpacking the “Invisible Knapsack” Students Bring to School: Understanding Implicit Bias, Advantages and Disadvantages. We engaged in dialogue about the prevalent dynamics of implicit bias that affect everyone and how we can work to become increasingly aware of them. PRESENTATION SLIDESfrom the meeting are now available. For upcoming PDAC meetings, please see the CALENDAR or visit PDAC subpage for further information.

World Cafe… Please mark your calendars for PDAC’s World Cafe. World Cafe is an evening to collaborate and network with colleagues, families, staff, board members and community. We will be exploring and understanding advantages and disadvantages of all students. World Cafe is on Tuesday, October 3rd at NVHS from 6:30 - 9:00 PM. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Sarah Nowak ( or 630.428.7210) by September 29th.
