Dear Brooks Families,
Thank you to all the families who participated in the Roarin 5K. This is not only a wonderful community event, but it’s also the primary fundraiser for the PTA. This money goes right back to our students! A special SHOUT OUT to Mr. Mark Lobos for organizing and coordinating this event!! We thank you for your support and participation.
Hurricane Relief Update: A tremendous thank you to all our families who contributed to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Brooks Students raised $3,227.16. What an incredible way to give back to others in need. A special thank you to Tracey Stiles for organizing this activity. In addition, a SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Mondelli and Mrs. Pilafas for their daily trips to the bank. Have your ever taken hundreds of dollars in change to a bank?? LOL
—Fury Fridays - Brooks Elementary is excited to announce the beginning of Furry Fridays in partnership with the Naperville Humane Society and the PAWS for Tales Reading Program!
Each Friday a certified therapy dog will visit our school and students will be invited by their teacher to read to the dog! Our new friends are Zoey and Cubbie and they will be at Brooks on alternating Fridays beginning October 27. In order for your child to have the opportunity to participate, the Naperville Humane Society requires that you sign a release form which will be sent directly from your child’s teacher. Please just let your teacher know if your child should absolutely NOT participate (allergies, fear of dogs, etc)
Granger/Brooks Sports Reading Buddies: We are now partnering with Granger Middle School on a Sports Reading Buddies Program. Granger will be sending their sports teams to Brooks to read aloud to our students and make those important connections between grade levels. We are thrilled to be part of this exciting partnership with our friends at Granger!
STEM Volunteers Needed: The PTA STEM Committee is in desperate need of volunteers for their program. This opportunity allows you to present a STEM lesson (already prepared for you) in your child’s classroom. What a wonderful opportunity to be part of your child’s class and provide enrichment for our students. If you are interested, please contact Pareena Shah at email@example.com
