Volunteer of the Month: October
Reported by email@example.com on 10/19/17
Lindsay Kraai has been in a leadership role with the Kendall PTA for the past four years. Because of her continued dedication and many efforts to support Kendall Elementary, she has been chosen as October's BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
As a result of Lindsay's fundraising efforts, all grade levels at Kendall Elementary have benefitted from additional technology, resources, and many field trips. Lindsay's dedication shows in the amount of time she spends on communication with school families. She has assisted new families by setting up PTA information tables at Kindergarten Orientation Night, "Meet & Greets," and Kendall's Parent University nights. Her nomination states "Lindsay is so positive and approachable that all families feel welcome and comfortable."
Lindsay has orchestrated incredible staff appreciation activities with amazing themes each year to celebrate Kendall teachers. She also involves Kendall students in an annual fundraiser for pediatric cancer research by having them create banners and decorations for the Butterfly Walk for Cancer Free Kids.
Lindsay says she loves to volunteer because it brings her into her children's daily lives and gives her the opportunity to feel connected to the staff that molds and teaches them every day. Her children love seeing her at school and it enriches their conversations when she has a sense of what is going on in and outside their classrooms.
