“Reading is Sweet” Reading Program at Clow

Reported by nicole_fader@ipsd.org on 11/17/17

What better way to spend a cool, fall day than reading? To celebrate independent reading, the LMC is sponsoring an incentive called “Reading Is Sweet”!
Each week, starting on November 6th, students will receive a log to record their total weekly reading minutes. Students may count any outside-the-school-day reading for their
log. They can fill out the log throughout the week and return it to the envelope in their classroom by the following Monday.
LMC staff will be collecting these sheets each Monday, with the final slips being collected on Monday, December 18th. We will challenge students in grades K-5 to read a collective total of 200,000 minutes for the duration of the event. The candy-themed bulletin board in the LMC will show our progress. When we reach pink squares, we will spend that week having a fun activity that the whole school can participate in. If we reach our school-wide goal, we will have a movie celebration in the gym the week before our holiday break. Any questions may be directed to Mrs. Fader in the LMC. Happy Reading! ——
