Veterans' Day Assembly

Reported by on 11/20/17

On Friday, November 10th, the students of Kendall Elementary participated in our annual Veterans’ Day Assembly. The Kendall Chorus serenaded the audience with patriotic songs and students from each grade level shared with the audience the activities they were doing to show their appreciation and support for our armed forces. The Kindergartners and 1st graders shared their collection of stars which represent veterans that the students and staff know. The 2nd graders decorated flags and thank you signs to display in the gym. Mrs. Kalantzis shared how the 3rd graders were writing letters to send to the troops. In 4th grade, the students created an art collage to display in the hallway. Lastly, 5th grade continued their yearly collection of leftover Halloween candy to ship to the troops, since they did not get the chance to celebrate the holiday with their families. So far, they’ve collected four boxes full of candy! Thank you to all of our veterans!!!
