Giving Tree...The Holidays are quickly approaching! For many of us, the holidays are a season filled with family, friends, and food. It is a time meant for sharing our love of each other and enjoying the peace of the season. Welch Elementary School would like to extend the spirit of giving by offering an opportunity to contribute to families who are currently experiencing hardships within our Welch community. We will be collecting gift cards and monetary donations of any amount for groceries, gas, and gifts to help make the holiday season a time of joy for all of our families. Gift cards can be dropped off in the office and your child will be given an ornament to write his/her name to hang on the Giving Tree. Gift cards and monetary donations need to be donated by Friday December 15,2017. Thank you so much for keeping the holiday spirit alive at Welch!

Gift Mart… The holiday season is upon us , and our school is participating in the Gift Mart toy drive going on throughout District 204. The toy drive benefits families from schools within our district. Gift Mart, a local organization helping families throughout the area, will be holding a holiday event for these families on December 16th and the toy drive directly helps put on this event. After the event, any remaining toys will be distributed in the community. For additional information about Gift Mart and the event, you can visit Community Gift Mart. Toy donation boxes will be in the school from November 11th until December 8th. If you would like to participate in the drive, please bring an unwrapped $15-20 toy for a child between the ages of 6 and 12 to the school and place it in one of the collection boxes located throughout the school. Your generosity and giving spirit is appreciated.

Next Engage 204 on Dec. 7… The second Engage 204 session takes place December 7 from 7 to 9 pm at Still Middle School, 787 Meadowridge Drive, Aurora. This session will focus on "Changing Enrollment: Balancing Buildings and Boundaries." Engage 204 is a collaborative process between the community and District 204 to ensure a strong future for the district and its students. The community engagement sessions explore different aspects of the district, including, enrollment, district finances, and other key issues involved in maintaining a successful educational experience for students. Key to the success of this process is the collaboration and discussion between participants. District residents who attend will have the unique opportunity to share ideas and discuss topics in small groups in order to provide feedback to the Board of Education. Key findings and recommendations will be presented to the Board of Education by July 2018. All District 204 residents are invited to participate in Engage 204. RSVP is appreciated, but not required at Engage 204 RSVP. For more information, visit Engage 204.
