Dear Brooks Families,
I know you just got your children back to school after a 2 week break, but I must remind you they have 2 more days off!
Monday, January 15 - No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
Tuesday, January 16 - No School (School Improvement Day for staff)
Volunteer Thank you!
A huge thank you to all our volunteers who helped with our school wide benchmarking assessment plan. Your assistance makes this process run smoothly and is greatly appreciated!
Parent Survey - We Need YOU!! Please take a few moments to complete the State of Illinois Survey on Brooks School. This information will help us make Brooks the best it can be. Currently, 26% of our families have completed the survey, but our goal is 50%. We can do this! The deadline is January 31.
To take this short survey:
1. Visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/login/
2. Type and then select Dupage as District 204's County location. This is the county associated with the district, not the location of an individual school.
3. Type your school's name into the School field and then select your school.
On Monday night, the Board of Education approved the elementary boundary adjustments for 3 schools, including Brooks. For those of you impacted by this change, you have or will be receiving letters from the district via US Mail. I will be sending emails specifically to those families regarding transition activities. The first will be a Young Elementary Open House for Brooks students on Wednesday, January 24 from 7:00-8:00. Please be watching for more specific information. (this Open House is intended for current Brooks students who will be moving to Young for the 2018-2019 school year)
End of 2nd Quarter/Grades
Grades will be posted on Home Access on Friday January 19 after 4:00. If you do not have your student’s log in, please contact the school office BEFORE January 19 at 630-375-3200. Thank you!
What is #FutureReady204?
Community members are invited to attend the next Engage 204 session on January 29 from 7 to 9 pm at Still Middle School, 787 Meadowridge Drive, Aurora. This session will focus on "What is #FutureReady204?" Experts have stated that the majority of students entering elementary school today will be working in jobs that have not been created yet, using tools that have not been invented yet, solving problems that have not been thought of yet. During this interactive session, administrators will share how education is changing to help students develop life and work skills that will be needed in the future.
Engage 204 is a collaborative process between the community and District 204. Key to the success of this process is the collaboration and discussion between participants. District residents who attend will have the unique opportunity to share ideas and discuss topics in small groups in order to provide feedback to the Board of Education. Findings and recommendations will be presented to the Board of Education by July 2018. All District 204 residents are invited to participate in Engage 204.
RSVP is appreciated, but not required at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Engage204RSVP.
