2018 Jump Rope for Heart

On Wednesday, February 14th, 5th grade students at Kendall Elementary will participate in the 2018 Jump Rope for Heart. The event will take place at 2:00 in the Kendall gym and will give 5th grade students a chance to exercise their "hearts" on Valentine’s Day. Jump Rope for Heart is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE). The concept behind this very important day is to educate our students on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The lessons taught include the promotion of physical activity, good nutrition, awareness and reduction of heart disease risk factors. Students will have an opportunity to collect donations to aid in the fight against heart disease and stroke. 5th grade students will be given their Jump Rope for Heart packets and information during classes in physical education. All fifth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in this fun and exciting event. I am looking forward to a great afternoon. Our fifth grade students have been working hard on their jump roping skills.
