Brooks Idol Rehearsal
If your child is in Brooks Idol, the dress rehearsal schedule will be given to your child through backpack mail on Monday, February 5. Please make sure to read the directions and know which date your child is scheduled. The dates are February 13 and 14 from 3:40-4:30. Contact Tracey Stiles with any questions!
In order to keep our LONG car line moving, please do not make a left hand turn out of the teacher parking lot after dropping off or picking up your child. In addition, we are getting calls from our neighbors about driveways being blocked when picking up students outside of the car line. Thank you for being cognizant of where you are parking. We thank you for your cooperation.
On the Radar/Reminders
Valentine Party, February 14 - Each student will participate in a PTA sponsored Valentine Party. Volunteers may begin arriving at 1:45 and classroom doors will open at 2:00. You should have already received information from your lead room parent if you have been selected to volunteer at this party. This is a proactive reminder about party protocol. We welcome your attendance IF you have signed up through PTA. In addition, teachers will provide time in the day for a Valentine Exchange.
1. If your child chooses to participate, he/she should include a Valentine for EVERY classmate. No child should be left out.
2. Due to food allergies and health needs, we highly recommend a CARD ONLY. However, we recognize that many Valentines now come with candy as part of the card (in other words, a lollipop or candy heart). You may send those valentines with your child. If you choose to attach something to your card, please consider a NON-EDIBLE treat such as a pencil, eraser or Valentine sticker/tattoo.
3. NO peanut products, homemade goods or goodie bags are allowed.
4. ALL Valentines will be collected in a collection box/bag and sent home. NO CANDY will be eaten at school.
Everyone's cooperation in following health/safety rules will allow us to have a fun and safe Valentine Exchange. I hope this advanced information will allow you to plan accordingly. If you do not know if you are a volunteer for a room party, you may contact your lead room parent or the room parent coordinator, Paula Meyers at firstname.lastname@example.org
Pop Tab Collection - Brooks School is now collecting pop tabs which will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. The pop tabs are recycled, resulting in a monetary donation back to Ronald McDonald House. This incredible organization provides housing for children and families going through medical challenges. If you would like to save and donate your pop tabs, they may be dropped off in the school office. Thank you!
