Principal's Message 2/18/18

Reported by on 2/18/18

Dear Brooks Families,

Last week was a busy and exciting week! We kicked it off with the Pro Kids Show. Thank you to all our families who attended! We were overwhelmed with the positive response. Hopefully, the children had fun while being reminded of the importance of PEOPLE RESPECTING OTHERS! On Tuesday, we participated in our first Chick-Fil-A Night! Again, a shout out to our families who were able to participate. I am pleased to announce I did NOT eat alone!! I was surrounded by many many Tigers!! Lastly, on Wednesday, we celebrated our friendships with Valentine parties. Thank you to Mrs Meyers and all the volunteers who made these parties possible for our students. If you weren’t able to attend these events, do not worry! We have more activities ahead!

Engage 204
Did you know District 204 maintains 4 million square feet of building space and more than 650 acres of property? That makes the district's acreage twice the size of Six Flags and its combined building space larger than the Merchandise Mart. Learn about the challenges of maintaining 35 buildings that span 80 years of construction and then give us your feedback at the next Engage 204 session from 7 to 9 pm on February 26 at Still Middle School, 787 Meadowridge Drive, Aurora. The session topic is "The State of Our Facilities."

Engage 204 is a collaborative process between the community and District 204. Key to the success of this process is the collaboration and discussion between participants. District residents who attend will have the unique opportunity to share ideas and discuss topics in small groups in order to provide feedback to the Board of Education. Findings and recommendations will be presented to the Board of Education in July 2018. All District 204 residents are invited to participate in Engage 204.

RSVP is appreciated, but not required at RSVP. For more information, visit Engage 204.

Spring Conferences
On Thursday, March 1, optional Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held. If your child’s teacher is requesting a conference, you were notified by February 16. If you don’t hear from your child’s teacher, a conference is not being requested at this time. If a conference has not been requested, but you feel as though you need to meet with your child’s teacher, please contact him/her directly.

On the Radar/Reminders

Traffic Reminders
In order to keep our LONG car line moving, please do not make a left hand turn out of the teacher parking lot after dropping off or picking up your child. In addition, we are getting calls from our neighbors about driveways being blocked when picking up students outside of the car line. Thank you for being cognizant of where you are parking. We thank you for your cooperation.
