Kindergarten 1819… If you have a child who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2018, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year. Please see link below for important information about enrollment.

Lost and Found… Our Lost and Found is overflowing! Please encourage your students to check the Lost and Found for any missing items over the next few days, and please note that parents are invited to come take a peek, as well! We will be donating remaining items over Spring Break!

LMC... Congratulations Bluestem Readers! We had great participation in our Battle of the Bluestems Challenge held at Welch. Congratulations to Senor Garbanzo Republic members Anirudh M., Ricky K., and Sajiv H. for their 1st place finish. They and the Bluestem Bros (Nicholas P., Aditya R., Vrishank R.) represented Welch at the Crosstown Battle of the Bluestems held at Graham Elementary. The Bluestem Bros. placed 3rd in this event that included the top two teams from 11 other District #204 schools. Both events were a joyous celebration of reading.

Bookfair… The bookfair is coming! Flyers will be sent home with students today. Next week on Monday and Tuesday students will preview the book fair. The fair will be open for parents and students on Wednesday (3/21) and Thursday (3/22) from 9:15am-3:00pm. The fair will be open Friday (3/23) morning from 9:15am-11:00am. It will also be open Wednesday evening from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Please stop by the book fair. A portion of book fair proceeds supports school initiatives for curricular needs. If you are unable to shop the book fair at school, you can shop online until April 3. Online sales will be delivered to the school. The link for online sales can be found here:———.

Engage 204 on March 20… The community is invited to attend Engage 204 from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, March 20 at Still Middle School, 787 Meadowridge Drive, Aurora. This session will focus on the district's budget. Previous sessions have looked at academic programs, demographics, and facilities. Some of the topics discussed by presenters and attendees have included class sizes, teacher pay, mental health support, facility use, and maintenance projects. At this session, presenters will discuss the cost of some of the ideas and attendees will be asked to prioritize the ideas. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to provide feedback on how to financially support the ideas considering the district's limited resources.

Engage 204 is a collaborative process between the community and District 204. Key to the success of this process is the collaboration and discussion between participants. District residents who attend will have the unique opportunity to share ideas and discuss topics in small groups in order to provide feedback to the Board of Education. Findings and recommendations will be presented to the Board of Education in July 2018. All District 204 residents are invited to participate in Engage 204.

RSVP is appreciated, but not required at RSVP. For more information, visit Engage 204.
